This is by far the quickest build. I've never had to use Soothing Memories or Mend Body and Soul..they're there just in case. Cast your Mantra then Channeling, get close to the mob, cast AE, agro, then VwK. Spam Vengeful Weapon and after the third VwK expires, you may only have one or two enemies left, and Vengeful Weapon can more than take care of them.
ps...learn the patterns of the mobs

Well...I'm certainly not getting any gold Dead Swords, or any at all for that matter, but I've had 4 gold Protective Icons and 3 gold Divine Favor wands drop for me...
And this finally got me off my butt to do some more farming again...kind of stopped after Nightfall came out...

Alright, after reading all the threads through this link, I've come up with this build:
E/Me
16 earth
10-12 insp
energy storage as high as you can get
Skills:
Mantra of Earth
Stone Striker
Stoneflesh Aura
Glyph of Concentration
Archane Echo
Sliver Armor
Shockwave/Sandstorm/other earth high dmg skill
Stone Daggers
Equipment:
Max dmg/energy earth staff... I play with an Adept Earth Staff of Enchanting (20cast/20recharge/20recharge/20enchant)
-you definitely want 19-20% enchants to keep recast rate of stoneflesh and stone striker at a minimum.
Although I haven't tested it yet, I believe that the +10armor vs Earth ele armor should work relatively well in place of stoneflesh... this would allow another dmg skill. Again, I STRESS the fact that I haven't tested this idea out, but with +10 armor vs earth, +10 armor vs ele, on top of mantra and stonestriker, one extra space for another aoe earth skill could (possibly) work fine with this build. Anyone testing this idea, pls pm me with the results, I would really like to know how it works w/out testing it myself (I'm poor w/little time for testing this stuff).
First 3 skills are you def/energy skills... even with 40 energy this build supplies continual energy due to mantra and stonestriker. Energy is never a problem so long as these two skills are up.
The main dmg you're creating is from Sliver Armor; before agroing, cast Mantra, Stonestriker, Stoneflesh before agroing (in that order due to the time they each last). Once you initiate agro, run in and pull melee chars into casters, then cast glyph, echo, sliver. Once glyph is recharged, recast it followed by stoneflesh and, once original sliver is blinking, cast sliver again (echoed copy). Shockwave/Sandstorm/other aoe earth spell is for extra dmg, cast whenever recharged, don't worry about being interupted. If any enemies run away due to sliver/shockwave/whatever, cast stone daggers at them to re-agro, or to just finish them off, depending on their hp level.
This build is designed to take out one slave grp at a time... if you agro more than one grp at a time, this build will take much more time to clear the quest than necessary. At most this build should take 15 mins per farm, so long as you take one grp out per agro. Continually cast glyph before other spells when melee chars are in range. Stoneflesh and Sliver armor are vital... keep them up as much as possible; if you have killed all melee in a grp, glyph is not necessary (casters can't interupt), so continually cast whatever is necessary. If you run this build correctly, archane echo should be completely recharged by the time you have killed each individual grp.
After Stoneflesh and Sliver have been cast, use stone daggers for any enemies that have run out of the main agro, or for any other that are low on hp. Stonestriker + mantra = zero energy problems, so spam stone daggers as much as you want.
I have died twice (out of about 50 runs) with this build; both times were due to me being lazy and not paying attention to the other grps coming into the area. Out of the runs I've completed, I have farmed 3 max (req 13, 11, and 10), 1 non-max dead swords, ~40k worth of gold pieces/purp and golditems/blue and white items/runes, and a few dyes, including one black.
This build is EXTREMELY easy with the quest involved... if anyone has any questions/suggestions/whatever, please pm me ingame. My ele has gained close to 200k exp with this build, tons of money to show for it, and only 2 deaths as a result of my being lazy. While the recasting of some spells might seem tedious to some, if you've ever 55ed anywhere, or have done any other soloing other than a/e or e/a sliver soloing, this build is extremely easy to play. Learning curve on this build = 20 mins max.

Using the 135hp SoJ monk posted on the first page I got a 15-22 (req.13) gold dead sword(will be using on my warrior ^^).
The cash requisition from this run is pretty high too. I make about 10k in 4 runs.
If anyone is having trouble with the melee spirits fleeing from SoJ then make sure to engage one of them in combat with your weapon. This prevents him from running.

What route are people taking from Bone Palace ??
If I pick up a Wurm and make a dash for the portal, I get degen'd to death
Even with a full party of heroes/henchies, I die before the portal.
How do you reach it solo ???

You avoid aggro as long as possible, then hit Junudu Tunnel once you've entered aggro, and try to shake the monsters.

I hug the left hand side (along the cliff edge) until I agro the nearest mob, then I angle towards the right to avoid the large group of undead to the left of the portal/shrine. Doing this, I've never aggroed that group and make it to the portal with at least half health.

This is fun - which means I'm sure it will be nerfed shortly. Does anyone actually get there without the henchies? It would be lovely not to have to share all those cash drops...
No dead sword for me yet but this seems to be a good spot for a lot of misc items that don't seem to drop for me otherwise.

Edit: You dont need to take henchies with you at all. When you leave the Bone Palace quickly hop on the Wurm express. Make your way towards the portal and when the first mob in the way aggroes you hit the Wurms Junundu Tunnel and your thru.

this probably wont be nerfed for a bit, considering it has been on Wiki and this for quite some time. even before this current thread it was posted about, and anet has done nothing yet to correct it.
as for henches...how could you not get to the portal alone? just hug the wall then tunnel through...

From around 50 runs (Not all after each other), I never got a dead sword. Plenty of gold shields, wands and staffs, but not a single dead sword.
